Refund policy

At DML World Inc., we stand behind our machines, filaments, printed goods, and custom print services. Because these product lines behave very differently, our return terms are category-specific. Please read the section that matches your purchase.

This policy applies to orders placed on dmlworld.com and dml-world.myshopify.com. For orders placed under a signed B2B agreement, the contract terms take precedence over this policy.

1. Custom Prints (Print-on-Demand)

Custom prints are produced specifically for your order from designs you provide and cannot be resold. All custom prints are final sale and are not eligible for return or refund based on change of mind.

We will remake or refund a custom print only if there is a verified quality issue attributable to DML (structural defect, wrong material, dimensional error outside agreed tolerance, damage in transit).

  • Standard custom prints (order value under $500 and largest dimension under 20 cm): Quality claims must be submitted within 7 days of delivery.
  • Engineering-grade custom prints (order value $500 or above, or largest dimension 20 cm or above, or classified as engineering-grade in your quote): Quality claims must be submitted within 30 days of delivery.
  • B2B contract orders: Terms specified in your signed order or master service agreement take precedence over this section.

Claims require clear photos or video showing the defect, with the original shipping label visible. We typically resolve quality claims by reprinting at no additional charge or refunding the affected line item. You do not need to ship the defective part back unless we specifically request it.


2. Ready-to-Ship Printed Goods

Ready-to-Ship Printed Goods are physical products we produce in advance from designs DML has legally licensed for commercial sale, then stock and ship as standard inventory. This category includes printed figurines, decorative items, utility parts, and similar catalog products listed in our Printed Goods collection.

All Ready-to-Ship Printed Goods sold by DML are produced from designs under valid commercial licenses. Where the underlying license requires creator attribution, the original designer is credited on the product page.

Unused Ready-to-Ship Printed Goods in their original packaging, with no signs of wear, damage, or modification, may be returned within 30 days of delivery.

  • A 15% restocking fee applies to cover inspection, repackaging, and quality control.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping. Return shipping costs are not refundable.

Used or damaged items are not eligible for return, including items showing signs of handling wear, paint damage, breakage from drops or mishandling, or any modification after delivery.

Quality defects (structural defects from the printing process, wrong item shipped, visible manufacturing flaws, damage in transit) are handled separately. Contact us within 30 days of delivery with photos. We will exchange or refund the item at no charge, and DML covers return shipping if we need the item back for inspection.


3. Filaments

Unopened filament in its original sealed packaging (vacuum bag intact, box unopened, spool untouched) may be returned within 30 days of delivery.

  • A 15% restocking fee applies to cover repackaging, quality control, and re-sealing.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping. Return shipping costs are not refundable and will not be deducted from the restocking calculation.

Opened filament is not eligible for return or exchange. Once the vacuum seal is broken, filament may absorb moisture and can no longer be resold with the quality our customers expect.

Quality defects (breakage on the spool, severe color inconsistency beyond manufacturer tolerance, moisture damage from compromised packaging received from us, non-conformance with the advertised specification) are handled separately. Contact us within 30 days of delivery with photos and the spool batch number. We will exchange the spool at no charge, and DML pays return shipping if the original spool is needed for inspection.


4. 3D Printers

Unused printers in original packaging with all accessories, manuals, and protective materials intact may be returned within 30 days of delivery.

  • Consumer-grade printers (e.g., Bambu Lab X1C, P1S and similar desktop machines): 15% restocking fee.
  • Industrial-grade printers (e.g., IEMAI Magic-HT-PRO, HT-MAX, HT-M and similar high-temperature or high-precision systems): 25% restocking fee. Industrial machines require freight shipping, full unboxing inspection, recalibration, and repackaging, which represents real cost.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping, including freight charges for industrial machines. A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and prepaid freight arrangement must be obtained from DML before shipping any machine back.

Dead on Arrival (DOA): If your printer arrives non-functional out of the box, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will cover all return freight, dispatch a replacement or issue a full refund at your choice, and waive all restocking fees. You must retain the original packaging for a DOA claim.

Used printers (any machine that has been powered on, had filament loaded, or shows any sign of use) are not eligible for return. Failures after the machine has been used are covered under the standard 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery, which covers repair or replacement of defective parts. For industrial machines, extended warranty may be offered where specified in the distributor agreement accompanying your purchase.

Shipping damage: If your machine arrives with visible external damage to the crate or carton, refuse the shipment at the door or photograph the damage before accepting delivery, then contact us within 48 hours. Damage claims made after 48 hours without documentation may not be honored by the carrier and cannot be processed by DML.


5. How to Start a Return

Please do not ship items back without prior authorization. Unauthorized returns may be refused, lost, or delayed without refund.

To initiate a return:

  1. Email info@dmlworld.com or call +1 (213) 446-9040 within the applicable return window.
  2. Provide your order number, the product(s) you are returning, the reason for return, and photos if the return involves a defect or damage.
  3. We will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions, typically within one business day.
  4. Package the item securely in its original packaging, include the RMA number on the outside of the box, and ship to the return address provided.
  5. For industrial machines, we will coordinate freight pickup directly.

Returns received without an RMA number may be rejected or processed with an additional handling fee.


6. Refund Processing

Once we receive and inspect the returned item:

  • Refund method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Wire and ACH payments are refunded by wire or store credit at our discretion.
  • Timing: Refunds are typically processed within 5 business days of receipt and inspection. Your bank or card issuer may take an additional 3-10 business days to post the refund.
  • Deductions: The restocking fee (if applicable), the original outbound shipping cost, and any return shipping cost advanced by DML will be deducted from the refund.
  • Partial refunds: If a returned item shows signs of use, missing accessories, damaged packaging, or missing parts, we may issue a partial refund covering the reduced resale value.

7. Warranty

All new 3D printers sold by DML World Inc. are covered by a 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and does not cover damage from misuse, unauthorized modification, accident, or wear of consumable parts (nozzles, build plates, belts, heater blocks, PTFE tubes, etc.).

For industrial machines, warranty terms may be extended where specified in the distributor agreement accompanying your purchase.

Warranty claims follow the same contact process as returns. We will coordinate with the manufacturer on your behalf and aim to resolve claims with replacement parts, on-site service, or machine exchange depending on the nature of the defect.


8. Exceptions and Special Cases

  • B2B contract orders: Terms of the signed contract or master service agreement take precedence over this policy in case of conflict.
  • Sale, clearance, and sample items: Items marked "final sale," "clearance," or "sample" at the time of purchase are not eligible for return.
  • Gift cards and store credit: Non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • International orders: DML currently ships within the United States only. This policy does not apply to international purchases, as none are accepted.
